Rhododendron Week – Himalayan Scarlet Bloom Week-Trashigang

April 3 - April 9

Rhododendron Week in eastern Bhutan is a seasonal nature and culture celebration based around the blooming forests of the Trashigang region. Set against the high ridges and temperate Himalayan slopes, this week highlights Bhutan’s most spectacular spring transformation — when hillsides turn red, pink and white with wild rhododendron species found only in the eastern Himalayas.

Why It’s Special

Rhododendron Week is not a staged festival, it is a natural seasonal event that celebrates Bhutan’s living ecosystem. It offers one of the few chances to experience eastern Bhutan at peak colour, where landscapes, wildlife and village life come together in a short but spectacular spring window.
