Pemagatshel Tshechu — Eastern Bhutan’s Hidden Highland Festival
Held in the remote eastern valley of Pemagatshel, the Pemagatshel Tshechu is one of Bhutan’s lesser-known yet culturally rich religious festivals. Celebrated in honour of Guru Rinpoche, it brings together sacred mask dances, local community gatherings and centuries-old Buddhist rituals preserved in one of Bhutan’s most traditional districts.
