This 8 Nights / 9 Days journey begins in Paro with cultural sightseeing before ascending into the famous Druk Path Trek. Over four unforgettable camping nights, you will cross high mountain ridges, sacred alpine lakes, and yak pastures while trekking from Paro to Thimphu. After completing the trek, enjoy cultural exploration in Thimphu with visits to major landmarks and monasteries before returning to Paro. The adventure concludes with the iconic Tiger’s Nest hike placed perfectly on the second last day, creating a powerful spiritual finale before departure.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Paro | Cultural Welcome to Bhutan

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, your guide will warmly receive you and begin your Bhutan journey.
Visit Rinpung Dzong, built in 1644 and one of Bhutan’s finest examples of traditional fortress architecture. Explore the historic Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples built in the 7th century by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo.
Enjoy a gentle walk around Paro town and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.

Day 02 :

Trek Begins | Paro to Jele Dzong

Drive to Ta Dzong area and begin the trek uphill through pine forests and apple orchards.
Reach Jele Dzong, a remote fortress monastery perched on a ridge with panoramic views of Paro valley below.
The campsite here offers a peaceful first night in the mountains.
Trekking Time: 4–5 Hours
Camp Altitude: Approx. 3,480m
Overnight: Camping

Day 03 :

Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha

Today’s trail passes through alpine forests rich with rhododendrons and dwarf bamboo. On clear days, views of Mount Jomolhari appear dramatically on the horizon.
You may encounter yak herders and their traditional camps along the route.
Jangchulakha is a beautiful wide pasture surrounded by mountain ridges.
Trekking Time: 5–6 Hours
Camp Altitude: Approx. 3,780m
Overnight: Camping

Day 04 :

Jangchulakha to Jimilang Tsho

A scenic high-altitude day leads you to the famous sacred lake of Jimilang Tsho.
This crystal-clear lake is believed by locals to be inhabited by giant mystical trout and is considered spiritually significant.
The reflections of surrounding peaks make this one of the most beautiful campsites of the trek.
Trekking Time: 4–5 Hours
Camp Altitude: Approx. 3,880m

Day 05 :

Jimilang Tsho to Simkota

Continue across mountain ridges and smaller glacial lakes while enjoying open views across the Himalayas.
Arrive near Simkota Lake, another peaceful highland campsite known for birdlife and tranquil scenery.
This is one of the quietest and most rewarding nights on the trek.
Trekking Time: 4–5 Hours
Camp Altitude: Approx. 4,090m
Overnight: Camping

Day 06 :

Simkota to Phajoding – Thimphu

Descend gradually through juniper forests toward Phajoding Monastery, an important meditation center overlooking Thimphu valley.
Continue descending to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu.
After several nights in the wilderness, enjoy a comfortable hotel stay.

Day 07 :

Thimphu Cultural Exploration

After breakfast, explore the highlights of Thimphu.
Visit the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest sitting Buddha statues in the world, offering panoramic valley views.
Continue to Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body. Visit the Folk Heritage Museum and local handicraft markets for authentic Bhutanese cultural experiences.
Drive back to Paro in the evening.

Day 08 :

Tiger’s Nest Hike | Spiritual Finale

Hike to the legendary Paro Taktsang, Bhutan’s most sacred monastery dramatically clinging to a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor.
Guru Rinpoche is believed to have flown here on the back of a tigress in the 8th century to meditate and subdue negative forces.
This spiritual and scenic hike is the perfect grand finale of your Bhutan journey.

Departure from Paro
